OUR BASEMENT REMODEL
When Quinn and I found out we were expecting another little girl, we quickly realized that we didn’t have enough room in our current layout to give her her own space since Quinn was using our 3rd bedroom as his office space. So we decided it was time to start making plans to finish our basement to allow for Quinn’s new office to be moved down there and our new daughter would take over the 3rd bedroom upstairs. In April of 2023, we finally broke ground on the project and Quinn did everything from framing to painting himself, along with the huge help of our brother-in-law. A few hours before I went into labor with my second, on July 15, we finally finished. It took about 3 months of working long, long nights and almost every single Saturday, but we did it! Quinn did such an incredible job and I am so so proud of him!
Basement Living Room
This is hands down my favorite space in our whole house. It turned out even better than I imagined and is the perfect space for our family to hang out. Quinn built the fireplace, mantle and cabinetry all by himself and then we added these white oak shelves from Ultra Shelf and added brass hardware from Emtek to warm it all up. I cannot wait for Christmas so that we can hang our stockings on the mantle and cozy up by the fire at night.

Basement Bathroom
I wanted a more modern transitional look in this bathroom and wanted it to look completely different from our other bathrooms yet still feel cohesive so I brought in the same floor tile that we used in our master bath and then used an off-white ceramic tile on the shower walls with a beautiful grey carrara marble honeycomb mosaic shower floor tile to give it a more modern feel. And to warm up the space I added this gorgeous white oak vanity and all brass hardware. This might just be my favorite bathroom in the whole house. I am in love with how it turned out!

Basement Guest Room
We needed to create as functional of a space as possible down here since we didn’t have a huge space to work with. We knew we wanted a playroom of sorts for the girls as they grow but we also wanted a place for guests to stay since most of our family is out of state, so we decided to put a Murphy Bed here to allow us the best of both worlds and I am so glad we did. We have already had 3 visits from family members who were able to use this space. Quinn built the whole thing himself with the help of our brother-in-law, including the cabinetry beside it. It turned out perfect!
